How to Commission a Portrait
Commissioning a portrait with me is a thoughtful and collaborative process from start to finish. It begins with you reaching out and sharing your photos, ideas, and a little about your animal—their name, their personality, what makes them them.
From there, I’ll guide you in choosing the right sizing, and help select reference images that will allow me to capture the most detail and expression. Each piece is drawn entirely freehand in soft pastel, as I carefully build up fine layers to create a highly realistic, lifelike work with depth, softness, and lasting quality.
Every portrait is created with close attention and intention. My goal is not just to recreate an image, but to honour your animal—to capture their spirit in a way that feels real, personal, and deeply meaningful to you.
