Heartwork

Where It All Began
There has always been something in me drawn to animals — their quiet presence, their honesty, the way they exist so fully in each moment.
I'm Jasmine, a pastel artist based in Uxbridge, Ontario, where realism and reverence meet. My work is rooted in a lifelong love of the natural world — one that began earlier than I can even remember.

Me and Zynna — where it all began.
Long before I ever picked up a pastel, there was Zynna — our family's German Shepherd, and my first real friend. I was two when she came home as a puppy, and we grew up side by side. She was my first truly meaningful bond with an animal, and the one who taught me how completely a dog can become part of who you are.

In many ways, every portrait I create begins there — with that early bond and instinctive knowing that the animals we love leave a permanent mark on us. My work is simply a way of holding onto that: honouring the spirit, the personality, the steady companionship that makes them irreplaceable.

As a mother of two, I hold a keen awareness of how fleeting and meaningful our time can be — and how profoundly we're shaped by the lives we love. This perspective is woven into every piece I create.

Me and my Echo.🤍
I'm drawn to the subtle nuances that make each animal entirely their own — the softness in their expression, the essence they carry, the emotion behind their gaze. For the past five years, pet portraiture has been my focus, and working in professional-grade, archival pastel, my process is patient and immersive — built around an obsessive attention to detail: every shift in light, every fleck of colour in their eyes. The goal is always realism so precise it leaves people genuinely amazed.

Each piece is created not simply as a likeness, but as a lasting tribute — an artwork that honours the bond you share.
I'd love to create something meaningful for you.
